What constitutes a journalist today?
I’ve heard this question raised countless times since attending journalism school, and it never it gets old. The field is always changing and even more rapidly so with digital tools and technology at our disposal.
This question may seem like silly semantics to some people. Yet, in reality, the answer determines who we allow to be the gatekeepers of information.
When I first saw this clip of Tucker Carlson defending Alex Jones as a journalist, I was in shock.
Fox News was often the butt of many jokes when I was in school, and InfoWars was never discussed or viewed as a reliable source of information. Yet, here we are at the end of 2021.
As censorship standards expand, it’s crucial to understand the biases behind information being consumed.
So, is Alex Jones a journalist? It’s quite clear to me, but what do you think?
